Usability is King

So, what’s going on, you might ask. And you’d be justified in thinking we’ve disappeared. The truth is only a slight bit different.

When we launched the site to our early users, we were in for a rude shock. What we thought was perfectly clear functionality baffled almost everyone. We should have anticipated this, you might say, because we consider ourselves erudite web-developers. We’ve read scores of books and blogs about web-applications – we should have been able to create one simple web-experience!

Apparently not. So what we’ve been doing is going back to the drawing board, and trying to fix things. I suspect we’re going to end up redoing the UI from scratch. Not just the look and feel, of course, but the actual interaction design. We’d have to actually, uh… do some designing this time.

So… for all those who actually thought Yewoh was on to something, thanks for your vote of confidence, and your patience. We’ll be back, I promise… and hopefully, our users will be less frustrated with our site when we do come back.
